Audio Adventures System
Audio Adventures is a throwback to the vintage text-based computer games and branching adventure books of the 1980's, but delivered in an audio format. On this page is the basic system used for playing Audio Adventures games. Please select one or more games from the drop down menu, or select "No Game" if you only require a secondary unit.
Power
The unit contains a very large rechargeable battery capable of many hours of play from a single charge. The battery is recharged via a USB-C cable which is included.Sound
The system features a built in speaker or can be used with wired headphones for private listening.Accessability
The system was designed with the help of blind gamers and is entirely tactile, the game cartridges are designed in a way that is asymetric and can only be inserted in one way that is obvious to the touch. The game cartridges also feature braille lettering along the outside edge. There are no menu screens, or any necessity for entering wifi passwords or wireless device pairing. It is designed so that anybody can take it out of the box and begin playing within minutes. The system has been designed to make modifications easy, with break-out connections and solder pads on the circuit board (we even print modification instructions on the PCB) for players who require physical alterations (larger buttons, etc).Controls
The system is controlled using four tactile buttons on the front panel. These buttons also serve to pause the game and adjust the volume by holding in a long press.
