Focus on accessibility

From the moment our first prototype was built, we recognized Audio Adventures would work well for people who were blind, visually impaired, or had difficulty enjoying regular video games. We began working with blind game testers and people with reduced motor skills to make our game unit as accessible as possible.

Electronic Adventure Gaming

Audio Adventures was created as a throwback to text based computer games and choose-your-own-adventure books, but delivered in the style of a radio drama. It's for anybody who enjoys Role Playing Games, audio dramas, or retro-tech gaming.

Quote. My best friend went blind from type one diabetes. I kickstared one of these for her and she loves it.
Quote. My husband made a presentation of his unit for blind club this week and everyone was delighted. He loves it, thank you.
Quote. This is absolutely brilliant. I love the inclusivity
Quote. Our kids are obsessed. Thank you. We can't wait to show our blind neighbor who is eighty five

As a result, the Audio Adventures game unit is designed to be durable, intuitive and tactile. There are no visual menus or touch screens, no need to create accounts, passwords or enter wi-fi details.

Our uniquely designed game cartridges are made easy to hold, orientate and use. Our goal was to make a device that anybody could understand by touch alone and be ready to play within minutes of unboxing.

For people needing specialised accessibility features, the game unit has been designed in a way that makes it easy to modify (we even print modification instructions on the circuit board).

Unique Gameplay Experience

Of course, what makes Audio Adventures so great are the games. Our unique style of gameplay is completely new in electronic gaming. All of our game stories are dramatically rich and feature interesting story branching, often with difficult moral choices, or decisions you're forced to make under pressure; but beyond the story branching we have innovated some entirely new gaming mechanics.

Would you believe we found ways to modify classic game mechanics such as Pac Man and Tower Defence games to operate without a screen and entirely by sound? Audio Adventures is like nothing you've ever played before.

Everybody Can Play!

Our goal with Audio Adventures was to build a system that removed all barriers to entry (including price). We want to deliver as much 'Bang for Your Buck' as we can whilst keeping the price low.

If you'd like to develop software for Audio Adventures, we'd love to hear from you. Audio Adventures uses a proprietory scripting language made from only 40 instructions, meaning you can become a coding master in only a few hours. We have our own IDE for coding and simulating, we can show you how to code, how to create your own games and help get them published.
